Stephanie Rogers, glass artist, resides in Fernie, British Columbia. Working from her downtown studio she specializes in custom sandblasted and stained glass pieces for private residences and commercial installations. From concept to completion, she focuses on working with clients to achieve one of a kind custom works such as entry doors, interior railings, shower enclosures, lamps and windows, enhancing home, work and public environments with glass. Stephanie has been working in glass since 1975 when she was employed by Grassroots Stained Glass Studio, one of Ottawa, Canada's first and most prominent glass studios. Over the next 16 years Stephanie perfected her skills in glass design and craftsmanship. Starting with the basics in "Tiffany's" copper foil method Stephanie's skills continued to expand as she mastered the traditional technique of "Leaded" glass allowing her the opportunity to perform restoration work on some of Canada's Heritage windows including repair work on windows at Canada's Parliament Buildings. In 1985 Stephanie expanded her glass skills to include sandblasting on glass, combining frosting and carving techniques to perfection. In 1993 after a move to British Columbia, Canada, Stephanie attended the world renowned Pilchuck Glass School in the United States and added kiln fired painting on glass to her repertoire. |
